Iva Painia
Iva Painia is a dedicated WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor for Region 2 in the Baton Rouge area. On May 2, 2025, Iva and her domicile clinic, Southern University School of Nursing WIC Clinic, partnered with Louisiana Health Care Connect, STRIVE, Southeast Community Health System, Humana, Family Road of Greater Baton Rouge, AmeriHealth, Southern University Ag, and Reddy Set Push Doula Services to co-host a fun filled community baby shower event.
The event was a huge success, where 14 families in attendance were offered valuable information on resources, door prizes, and healthy refreshments. Participants also received vital breastfeeding education during Iva’s presentation which was informative, motivating, and helpful to our WIC families as they continue on their own breastfeeding journeys.
A big shout-out to Iva for her commitment, passion, and the positive impact she continues to make in the community she serves!
