Free Breast Pumps From Louisiana WIC
Who is Eligible to Receive a Breast Pump from LA WIC?
The Louisiana WIC Program provides breast pumps to participants who need to initiate and maintain breastfeeding when separated from their infant and or during special circumstances.
Breast pumps are issued based on your WIC breastfeeding assessment after your baby is born. To qualify for a breast pump, you must first be certified by the WIC Program as a breastfeeding participant and have not already received a breast pump from your Healthy Louisiana (Medicaid) insurance plan. Some plans will provide pumps to their pregnant clients. Call your health insurance plan using the contact information on the back of your insurance card to ask about breast pump benefits offered.
Pregnant WIC participants are not eligible for a WIC breast pump. WIC can only provide breast pumps after giving birth. If you are enrolled in WIC during your pregnancy, you must reapply to WIC after having your baby.
Who would benefit from a breast pump?
